Sunrise Ridge

We were able to take a short vacation over to the mountains this past week with my Mom and Dad. We packed a lot in to three short days. We arrived at the Time Share Tuesday afternoon and the girls hit the pool as soon as we got everything unloaded. The water was a bit chilly and the skies were overcast, but that didn't stop them from swimming. After a short while in the pool, we ordered pizza for dinner and hit Walmart for a few necessary items. Then it was off to bed for the girls. They both slept in the room with my parents. Allison had the crib that my sweet Dad has taken apart and hauled to every place we have ever gone to spend the night for the past two years. The room Bill and I were staying in had a nice King size bed, but the room was not quite large enough to put the crib in, so we set it up in Mom and Dad's room. Lauren always sleeps with Mom and Dad when we are on vacation, so she slept in their room also. Well, of course both girls woke up in the night and no one got much sleep that night. So after that, we let Lauren sleep with Bill and I and Allison stayed in with Mom and Dad. The other nights were much better on everyone.
On Wednesday morning we got up and went to Dollywood. The girls loved being there and riding all their favorite rides. The Veggie Tales roller coaster was open for the first this summer, so they got to ride that. It was a new treat for them. It was also the first time Bill has been with the girls, so they loved having Daddy there.
After Dollywood and Allison's quick nap, the girls got to swim again. It was still overcast and the water was still chilly. Allison didn't stay in the water very long because her toes and fingers would start turning purple and she could not get warm. But Lauren didn't care about the chilly water. She made a new friend, a little girl who was seven years old.
After the swim, a bath and dinner we went to church. Both girls just walked right in to their class and didn't look back to say goodbye to us. I love the fact that they enjoy going to church and to Bible classes and it doesn't matter if they don't know anyone in the class.
Thursday morning we got up and went up to the Pancake Pantry. Ummm ummm good!
After walking around Gatlinburg for a while my sweet husband and Dad took the girls to play Putt-putt and let Mom and I go shopping at the Outlets. We got Lauren quite a few things for this fall and winter. I found some great deals at the Stride Rite Outlet. Woohoo! Brother Bill came over Thursday evening to spend the night with us.
Friday morning we packed up our belongings and checked out of the resort before meeting Bill's Mom and Parker at Dollywood. We even got to see Dolly at Dollywood! We had a great little mini vacation! Thanks Mom and Dad for sharing your Time Share with us, again!!! You guys are the best!

Don't you just love those mini vacations (and parents with timeshares)! The water in most pools is getting a little chilly with the cooler weather, doesn't seem to be bothering my 2 oldest but Madison hates it and only stays in a few minutes. We love going to Dollywood. We haven't ridden the Mountain Slidewinder this year as it has been closed every time we have gone...we are hoping to go this weekend. Glad y'all had a good time!

You got some GREAT pictures! I love the view from the resort. That is sooo nice. Having a getaway with grandparent to help with the kids is definitely the way to go. I'm glad you all had fun at Dollywood and got to ride some big rides, too! Those two girls are brave. And, I just love the Stride Rite outlet! That is my favorite place to shoe shop for the kids. Sounds like a wonderful trip to me!
