My Sweet Six Year Old Allison

Sweet, tender-hearted, silly, best hugger, big belly-laugher, very affectionate, adores her sister, princess lover through and through, girly girl......that's how I would describe my angel Allison.  You came into this world in dramatic fashion, via emergency c-section and you have provided plenty of drama in your six years of life.

I love how you come into my room every morning to give me hugs and kisses and say good morning.  I love when you crawl in my bed and snuggle for a few minutes.  I love how you wrap your whole body around me when you hug me.  I love how you belly laugh out loud when you watch movies.  I love how you adore you big sister.  I love everything about you!

I am so thankful that I happened to look at the clock  at 6:45 this evening and was able to hold you while we sang "Happy Birthday" to you at the time you were born six short years ago.  You are a blessing and joy to be around and we love you so much!  I'm so thankful God chose me to be your mommy.

We celebrated your birthday yesterday with family and you get to have your first "friend" party next Saturday.

This first picture is one of my favorites of you on the day you were born.  Ma Ready stayed around at the hospital to get to see you.  This picture was taken at 9:59 p.m.  just after we got into our room.  She did not want to look up for the picture.  She told us she just wanted to look at you.

Here are pictures of your party on Saturday.  You wanted to open presents before we had cake and ice-cream.

Uncle Bill got you a set of your very own texting phones....you were pretty pleased

You told Paw-paw you wanted a small stuffed bunny for your birthday....you were pretty pleased!
Your tiny bunny

I asked you so many times what you wanted for your birthday, and the only thing you would say was a small stuffed panda bear.  You wanted that so Lauren could have it as a baby to go with her big stuffed panda bear.  (You have a big stuffed polar bear that Aunt Susie gave you last year and a small, stuffed, baby polar bear....you wanted Lauren to have a baby for her panda bear).  You did tell Paw-paw you wanted a small stuffed bunny rabbit.  You also asked for new doll clothes for Becky.

You asked for a butterfly birthday cake (even though you had a butterfly cake two years ago)

The end of another school year!

I cannot believe Allison's Kindergarten year is almost over!  She will be six years old in just three more days.  I also can't believe Lauren will be in third grade next year!  I really hate to see her second grade year end for several reasons....but mostly I hate for her to move on from Mrs. Campbell's class.  She has been such an excellent teacher for Lauren.  I will be praying now for Allison to get in her class!  Allison has really enjoyed Kindergarten and loved her teacher, Mrs. Fox!  We are blessed to be in such a good school with such good teachers.
Here are pictures from Lauren and Allison's end of the year party which was this past Monday, May 13th and also their field days.  Fun times with sweet friends.

I am so proud of Lauren for finishing 1st place out of ALL the girls in second grade in the half-mile jog!!!  I love to hear her tell of her strategy for winning.  She says she started off jogging in the beginning and when the others who started off running in the beginning got tired, she was able to speed up at the end to win!  Way to go, sweet girl.

The infamous egg toss

Nice form there, Lauren

Fortunately.....it didn't break when she caught this
Lauren was also the first girl to finish in her class in the 100 yard dash.  She got to run again in the finals with all the girl winners in second grade.  She got a late start and didn't finish in the top three, but I was still super proud of her.

Allison had her field day on Thursday.  I had to be at work for the morning, so Bill went to work at 4:30 a.m. and then came to be with Allison for the morning.  He's such an awesome Daddy...and husband.  I got to come for the second half of lunch and the afternoon events for Allison's day.

Allison's class did an awesome job in the tug of war contest.  They lost their first tug, but came back to win second place.  They had to tug about  4 times in a row and beat the undefeated class, but with double elimination they lost the second time to that team.  Oh well, they did great anyway.  All of us parents were really proud.  Tug of war seems to be a big deal at field day.
